Jasper Engines And Transmissions - Jasper engine in Dayton, OH
I purchased a Jasper reman engine in 2008 for my 1994 Chevy C1500, had the standard 3yr/100,000 mile warranty. I put 193,000 miles on the original factory motor-commuting, traveling to Alabama and NC, hauling a riding mower and towing everything!
(sometimes to 'Bama and NC!) When I first got the Jasper it ran great, seemingly better than the factory motor when new. I got to 52,000 miles and then noticed vapor in the exhaust lasted more than a couple of minutes. Wasn't sure what was going on at that point and this was past the 3 year window. Kept driving it while keeping an eye on the exhaust and after a few days, it got steadily worse becoming steam.
I pulled up to a stop sign one evening and was enveloped in a cloud of sweet-smelling steam! Turned it around and headed back to the house; shut the truck off and watched a puddle of coolant grow underneath. I pulled plugs till I found that the last cylinder on the driver side has a massive leak letting coolant into the engine and crankcase.
I have not talked to Jasper and after the reviews I've read here, I'm not gonna bother since it is out of warranty. I like my old truck and I'm going to do what I should have done in the first place-find a decent used motor and get what miles I can out of it while saving my pennies for a new truck.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
Location: Dayton, Ohio

Its a Chevy Truck!!! Go to Jegs or Summit and buy a new engine. Contrary to what "peanut" says, it is much cheaper and will last much longer
whats your complaint you paid for a 3yr. /100,000 mile warranty and you got it ,you used it up don't cry or blame some one else.
if it had bought a brand new factory engine you could have paid twice as much got a 3 yr.
warranty and it could have died after the 3yr. period.
