Jasper Engine does not deliver

Jul 23, 2008 Jasper Engines complaint by Hoosiergose |

Back in 2000 I bought a Jasper Engine and had it installed in my car. Immediately it began smoking and lost oil pressure. Jasper's warranty dept. personnel wanted to blame my mechanic. I had to threaten to sue. They sent another engine. It soon locked up. After about 4 more junk engines I gave up. Their 3yr-75,000 mile warranty isn't worth a *** if your car is in the shop all the time like mine was. I finally had to junk the car out. The worst investment and experience I have ever had was buying a Jasper Engine. I wont go there again.!!!!!

Jasper has one of the best scams going. They are fanatical salesmen, heavily pressured by greedy owners. Every time I saw a Tranny or engine returned the "investigation" went to a department dedicated to "proving" that it was the customers, or Installers fault. The worst dealer is in Burnaby, Canada, where the Canadian prices are hundreds of dollars over USA prices, no matter where the Canadian Dollar is. There is a huge margin for the Installer. For example for a the Installer will be sold a Transmission at $2000, then told to sell it to the customer at $2700 PLUS installation. I actually saw a Bill at that price! If something goes wrong the customer has to wait many days or even weeks for the unit to be returned, with no compensation for their time without their vehicle. If the customer pays hundreds of dollars for a "Warranty" then the "Fault" department trys every angle to prove it's not Jasper's fault. The Middle and Upper Management make enormous salaries for what they do. You the Consumer pay for them. The Canadian Owner used to own a different Engine Shop called Yamato Engines. They were forced out of town due to horribly negligent practises. If you tell the Installers that Jasper Canada is really Yamato, any honest mechanics will cease doing business with them immediately.

Hey - dig this Bob guy. He has to be without a clue. If you type in Jasper engines on Pissed consumer-- lookie lookie at all the angry customers and complaints that pop up. If bob is so happy with Jasper's products whats he doing visiting this site anyway?. I think ole hoosier boy hit the nail on the head. Bob is probably hooked up with Jasper engines in some way. I 'll bet money he has an answer and excuse for each and every Jasper complaint on this website- dont you Bobo??? All I can say is - if you really want to know the truth try going to Jasper Engines (Jasper, IN) on a Sunday afternoon or evening and wait around and you will meet and see some very angry and unhappy customers returning there vehicles for warranty repair for the 2n 3rd or upteenth time. (This I have done and can bear witness) Go tell lies somewhere else Bob....we got your number. sho..enuff also check out complaint.com some good reading there too.!! Remeber dear Reader - their Warranty is only good for toilet paper. Take that straight to the bank.

sorry to say Bob, you are wrong, I took the vehicle back to Jasper for the last engine install (so they couldnt blame my installer) and not only did the engine fail, but they screwed up my transmission as well. That is one they could not blame on my installer. So that blows your theory all to H***. I could fill you fleet with people who have bad experiences with Jasper engine and Transmission. Have you not been reading some of these comment? You sir could be anybody, and perhaps your business has a fleet and perhaps not. Perhaps you are a Jasper Spokesperson hitting damage control. Or blowing smoke up someones rear end.

II think it may be your installer/shop. We have a fleet and the
only brand we will use Jasper Engines. We run a fleet of 25 plus limos, and have
never had a warranty issue.
If you want give

I heard that Jasper engines digs the motors out of junk yard cars, cleans em up and paints em and get them running and sells em fer remanufactured. I heard that from a guy that worked there.

Don't feal bad friend, I worked for that place for almost 15 years and am going to court over the things they are doing. Not everything is remanufactured, a lot more of what you think is just rebuilt, so a lot of people are being misled into what they are buying. The qaulity is not the fault of the people building the products, it is the fault of the management they have in place, and that is going to be the end of the company. I really loved working there, but the consumers need to be told how misled they are when they buy a "remanufactured" product. I was wrongfully fired for doing what I loved at a job I loved but it is time for this company to be investegated!
