Jasper Engines And Transmissions - Jasper 351w engine
I am on the second engine from jasper. The first engine made it 150 miles before the distributer gear was eaten up by the wrong gear inserted during build of the 351w.
Jasper replaced this motor with no questions asked and had good customer service. The second engine has made it 1500 miles and leaks profusely from both front and rear main seals.
I am very dissatisfied with the quality of the engines I have received from Jasper. I was under the impression that Jasper was the top engine rebuilder and I paid premium price to get a quality engine but it seems that I would have been better off keeping the original motor and having it overhauled.
Reason of review: Bad quality.

I had a 351w stock replacement from Jasper installed in a 1982 Bronco and so far so good. I've only put 1000 miles on it but no ticks, has good oil pressure, no leaks (from the engine). Rear main seals leaking are almost always due to installation error.
Wrong distributor gear is not Jasper's fault. If they covered that under warranty that's above and beyond their responsibility.
The distributor and gear does not come installed in the motor, they also specify what type of gear you need to use when you buy a motor from them. Different years have different camshaft materials which require different gear materials.
Everybody wants to throw this great company under the bus .. maybe the installer ?.....
I purchased a jasper 351w reman and it has served me well. I just have to keep a extra quart or two of oil in my toolbox to top off oil while I fill up with gas. Because I add so much oil due to leaks from front seal, rear seal, valve covers, and several other points I only change oil filter twice a year and my oil stays nice and clean
I guess jasper 351w engines should come with their own buckets to catch all the oil drips. I currently add about 1 quart of oil between oil changes.
I wish I had just rebuilt the original engine. Jasper is not a quality product.
I have parked my truck over a piece of carpet since I installed a 351w from Jasper. Both front and rear main bearing seals leak about half a quart between 3000 mile oil changes.
Don't walk, run away if you are thinking about buying a Jasper product.
I had the same problems with my 351w purchase from Jasper. I park my truck on a piece of cardboard to keep from getting oil all over my garage.
The front and rear main seals started leaking almost as soon as I left my installer with the second motor. I am extremely disappointed with my Jasper motor and would not recommend any Jasper products.
